Hall & Oak

Liquor Merchants.

Hall & Oak are another start up company.  Vanessa Hall was refered to me by a current client as she had just started out in business and didn't have a presence on the internet.  She had allready engaged another web designer before she introduced to me but soon found that he could not deliver a CMS so the decision to engage my services was an easy one.  As Vanessa was so new in business all she could give me to get started was her logo and a two page product portfolio, I immediately thought "what do I do with this".

With great colours and a feminine feel, the logo was the inspiration for the sites overall look.  Next came the functionality.  In my past career I managed a number of bars and function centres so I new just what her clients would find useful and keep them coming back.  I built a private area into the site that allows Hall & Oak clients to place orders for more stock, keep up to date with the latest wines supplied by Hall & Oak and download marketing material.

Vanessas' response was:

TREVOR,,, I LOVE IT,, its better than what I had in mind

Eden Valley Tourism

Tourism and local business directory.

The Eden Valley Progress Association were looking for a way to market the Eden Valley region to tourists.

This site provides an online directory of local tourism operators,  upcoming events and the facility to download the local newsletter.  Local business can register online for free, create and manage their own advertisements, contact details, images etc. this is all handled with a simple online form.  Once submitted the site administrator is automatically notified via email that a user has submitted a new advert, the administrator can then review the ad and if acceptable simply click a checkbox to approve and publish it.

A nice feature of this site is the automatic linking with Google maps.  When a business enters their address in the registration form a link to Google Maps is automatically generated.  Visitors can click on this link to get directions straight to the venue.

Kooky Village

Kooky Village Wines

Kooky Village was another startup winery that came to me for help and along the way treated me to some lovely reds.

When Nathan from Kooky Village first approached me he had a logo to use but not much else.  My inspiration for his site came from 2 things, the name "Kooky Village" said to me that this site should be a little different so instead of building a vertical site I flipped in on its side to make it stretch across the page.  The other thing that inspired me was his labels.  On Nathans living room wall are a number of artworks that he intended to use for his labels so integrating these into the overal design was imperative for brand recognition, you can see examples here. I previewed the initial concept to Nathan in a selection of different colours and his final decision was to use a neutral grey to give his labels a real "pop"

The Kooky Village online shop was linked into the MasterCardTM Internet Gateway allowing instant creit card payments (of course it goes without saying that we setup the site with a security certificate on a dedicated IP address etc..).

Cellar Case

A premium wine storage solution from Accent Wine Packaging

When Peter from Accent Wine Packaging developed the Cellar Case he approached me to develop a marketing website.

Peter had specific design ideas when it came to the look, he wanted a site that was "clean", functional with easy navigation, and very importantly he did not want a page that scrolled", to top it all of he needed the website to go live in just 10 days.

I seperated the site into distict areas "Wine Enthusiasts" an end user area, and "Trade Only" a business to business portal for retailers.

On entering the site, visitors are presented with "An introduction to Cellar Case".  Simple next and previous links step the visitor through an overview of the need and benefits of Cellar Case.

The wine enthusiasts section offers visitors some generic wine storage information, the ability to look up cellar doors that stock the Cellar Case, a form to complete and be advised by email of retailers in specific areas that stock Cellar Case and online polls to engage visitors and information for future marketing strategies.

The trade only area is protected my a username and password.  Potential retails can register online and when they have completed a commercial trade agreement Peter can simply log into his website and grant access to the new user.  Once logged in, trade clients can order new products, track current and historical orders, even download invoices and marketing materials.

Peter was so happy with his new site he now planning for me to upgrade his other site at Accent Wine Packaging.
