Discover the simple joy of creating art from nature.
Try your hand at mariposa, lazy squaw or hidden core method. Create a beautiful hand woven basket using locally foraged plant and natural dyed fibres. All levels of weavers will be catered for so if you are a beginner or have some coiling experience there is always so much to learn!
Kim Tait and Nicole Raward of Weaving Connections are local fibre artists with 20 years of basket weaving experience. Through their workshops they wish to foster a feeling of connection with our natural world, with each other and with our ancestors.
Weaving Connections is about a journey of discovery; of ancient knowledge of natural fibres, skills and techniques, and of the incredible diversity and versatility of the natural environment. They are passionate about keeping the ancient craft of basket weaving alive through sharing their skills and knowledge of all things woven.
